HONG KONG TATLER

NOVEMBER 2017

Hong Kong Tatler describes LALA CURIO’s founder, Laura Cheung, as a woman who is “well on the way to becoming one of the city’s most influential creatives.” Her decision to launch her interior design brand began back in March 2013 at the International Furniture Fair Singapore (IFFS), one of Asia’s premier design-led trade shows, with a 4000 square-foot booth. Buyers from all over the world visited the booth, ensuring the future of what is now, LALA CURIO.

After over 4 years of successes such as the opening of the flagship store in Wan Chai and multiple pop-up stores, LALA CURIO continues to specialize in forgotten Chinese crafts and Laura still has big plans in store for this home décor brand. We hope to lay the groundwork and bring out craftsmanship and furniture to Mainland China early of next year. With eyes set on Western markets, getting LALA CURIO into Bergdorf Goodman “was a milestone,” says Laura, but it’s only a step.

The promotion of female entrepreneurship, the building of a powerful network of creatives, taking her lifestyle brand global: Laura Cheung is a woman of vision, ambition, cool and grounded, resolute and unswerving,” Hong Kong Tatler says. The “single-minded determination” of the woman behind LALA CURIO is what will take the luxury interior design brand around the world.
